Ideally, students will go through the program in small groups to combine ground school sessions and create study groups. Individual training is also available. Each student must be available on a full time basis, eight hours each day for six weeks. The requirements for graduating from this six-week program are no different from the standard FAA Part 141 Requirements. The main factor that differentiates this program from others is the student will be flying *every day* as opposed to the usual one or two times per week. As a result the students retention of what he or she has learned will be greater. This technique is similar to that used by the military and airlines to concentrate training for superior results. Because less time elapses between lessons the need for review and repeating lessons is less. By the end of the program the student will have acquired about 55 hours of flight time. Estimated Cost Based on the National Average, as listed by Aircraft and Packages below:
Dulles Aviation offers an optional Private Pilot Ground School at an additional cost of $550.00 (includes most supplies). Classes are held in the evening, twice a week for eight weeks in the training room in our main building. Schedules and information concerning the Private Pilot course as well as other ground school courses are available from any Dulles Aviation Instructor. * NOTE: Estimated cost is based on all flight training in the above listed aircraft, and does not include Ground School training course, FAA Airman Knowledge Written Test, or FAA Practical Flight Examination. Please note that the time (and therefore the cost) is very much dependent upon an individual students aptitude and application of time and effort. It is impossible to accurately predict the flight time necessary for each individual. The cost of the flight training above is based on the National Average, which is higher than the minimum requirements by the Federal Aviation Administration to qualify for the Private Pilot Certificate.
